Oyez, Oyez... Let it be known to all that,
Drakenfjord's MidReign event will be a joint event with Barad Duin on April 16 - 18, 2010. The event will be held at the Oaks of Drakenfjord. Site & Feast Fee (one fee that covers Feast) will be $10.00 per person.
The main autocrat is Sir Cedric of Drakenfjord who can be contacted at
fuzzybrees@gmail.com His words are below:

Sunday :
The slow grinding get-up-and-go.
And now for the details (such as they are at this time) . . .
---A&S---
* Entries will be placed on the display table. Bowls will be placed
next to them.
* Each person may place three beads for their choice of top three
entries. The entry with the most beads wins. Yes, everybody on site
gets to be a judge.
* Food and bardic entries register during sign-up, but are entered
when judging starts. Food will be judged first. Bardic will follow
food.
* BE ADVISED!!! For those planning on doing their own A&S food entries
and plan to cook them on-site, you definitely need to bring a means to
cook with. The electricity is a single plug in a rather troublesome
area, and I can't guarantee the feastocrat will have the kitchen
on-site by that time.
---Two-Man Barrier Tourney---
* Two-man teams will duel over a waist-high barrier.
* No weapons longer than 5 feet, and leg shots don't count.
* Umm... nope, that's it. Really simple.
---Equestrian---
* Harass Bella for details. Mercilessly and with great vigor.
---Archery---
* Competitors will shoot in three rounds;
* First Round is 3 arrows at 30 feet.
* Second Round is 3 arrows at 45 feet.
* Speed Round - shoot as many arrows as you can at 30 feet in 20 seconds.
* Yes, this is live archery with the pointy parts still on the arrows.
The bows do not have to be combat-legal, but must be "period-ish"
designs. Please keep them under 60 pounds out of kindness to the
target.
---Beast Hunt---
* Hunting teams will chase down vicious beasts in the forest.
* Teams consist of a Hunter and a hunting dog (maybe two if we have
enough people).
* Hunters are armed only with a bow and up to three arrows or two
javelins. Dogs are armed with a shortsword. Beasts will be armed as
per their monster descriptions.
* Dog death counts are ten seconds, Hunters and beasts are 30 seconds.
* The team that gets the most kills in one hour wins.
---Weapons Workshop---
* Sighieari will be showing folks how to build their own fabulous
tableware and accouterments... and then how to throw them at people.
---Tavern Brawl---
* Harass Sighieari for details. And lets try to get the violence out
of our systems before feast starts, eh?
---Feast---
* I'll let you know when I know.
* But you will need to bring your own feast gear because there will be
a very limited supply of loaner gear on-site. Don't worry about fancy
stuff. We're trying hard to eliminate the paper plates and day-glow
cups from what should be the most visibly period part of the event,
but at this point anything else will do.
---Court---
* Harass Katrin for details. Please, load her up. The more harassment
you give her, the more she can give the Herald. And it's neat when
Heralds cry.
---After-Hours---
* Eat, drink, general hoe-down.
* I've got a new Tablero set that desperately needs breaking in."
